The Free Initial Diagnostic Inspection includes 4 steps as listed below:
- Transmission Fluid Condition.
The very first step of the Initial Diagnostic Inspection is to check the condition of the transmission fluid. This may seem, at first mention, to be a minor service; it is though a prime indicator of the transmissions condition. Transmission fluid in your automatic transmission is the life blood of the transmission. The Eagle Transmission Service technician is a trained expert at recognizing the various stages of transmission fluid deterioration.
- Road Test
The road test is conducted on each vehicle, which is of course drivable, to identify any shift pattern irregularities or symptoms. At Eagle Transmission our expert diagnostic technicians have many years of experience and can often recognize a symptom quickly due to common failures that occur on the various transmission types. If the vehicle can be driven safely the road test is a crucial step in determining an accurate transmission repair estimate.
- External Visual Inspection
After the road test is complete your vehicle will be placed on a lift and raised to enable the diagnostic technician to conduct the External Visual Inspection. The Eagle Transmission technician will thoroughly inspect the transmission shifter linkage, determine if any transmission fluid leaks are clearly visible, check all of the electrical connectors for damage or lose fit, and check all of the transmission mounts for wear or damage.
- Computer Diagnostic Scan
The final step in the transmission repair estimate process is the computer diagnostic scan. This is a crucial step which gives the technician insight through the stored “P” codes in your vehicles ECM (engine control module). The “P” codes indicate to the trained technician what may be causing the transmission problem.
